We are mother and daughter duo Dharshi and Dhishni de Silva.  Welcome to our site, you are sure to find something unmistakeable unique and handmade here. Our practice mostly derives inspiration from the lush garden at HOO. The garden acts not only as a creative source that feeds our imagination, but it provides us with valuable resources for our floral designs.

Our art at Hoo Gallery is created from a source of inner stillness and a commitment to a slow living philosophy and lifestyle. Yet, ironically what comes out of this is a prolific commitment to creativity, a strong work ethic and a creative process filled with meaning, narratives, symbology, mysticism, magic, a whimsical lightness and joy.

Hoo art and handmade objects explore themes surrounding identity, family values, connection to nature, ancestral and imaginative narratives regarding relationships.

On your visit to our gallery, expect to discover an Imaginarium gift shop filled with original art, prints and gifts created locally onsite at our studio. We create everything by hand, putting a lot of love, time and attention; therefore, availability may vary. We suggest that you contact Dharshi when looking for something specific before making the Mornington Peninsula journey from Melbourne. Alternatively, if you live further afield, check out the online store.

We would love to see you at HOO; we are opening our door to the public from the 12th of April 2021. Hope to see you then!
