Aurora Australis
  • Aurora Australis

This painting aims to capture the ethereal glow and undulating waves of the Southern Lights, also known as Aurora Australis. In Victoria, where Dharshi resides, these lights appear across the landscape, primarily visible beyond the horizon over the vast sea between midnight and dawn, when the sky is at its darkest. Dharshi was inspired to create this artwork after viewing the stunning lights and colors captured by local photographer Rob Wengritsky. At Hoo, we are dedicated to elevating unique, locally inspired fine arts.

The canvas of this painting is made from hemp linen and has been eco-printed by Dharshi to create a blend of serene hues and dynamic forms. She uses a perfect mix of locally grown plants, flowers, and berries sourced from the Mornington Peninsula to achieve the desired effect for the painting.

The artwork depicts a native Australian plant and is set against a coastal scene, with ocean ripples glowing in color and reflecting the illuminated sky above.

This painting is ready to hang and is framed in a Tasmanian oak wood box frame, protected under glass, measuring 390mm x 490mm.
