This fine art pigment ink print on 100% cotton rag archival paper is an original watercolour painting by Dharshi de Silva. This painting shows a woman holding her inner child symbolically in her arms. She is depicted as one with nature. The root vegetables that grow within the earth shows the levels of consciousness that she has mastered within her, in order, to reach the highest level of consciousness represented by the majestic oak trees on the horizon line. Among the oak trees that grow there, you will notice that one grows within her chest. The tiny acorn of spiritual practice that had been planted within her has grown from its immature state of an acorn to reach its fullest potential.
We all know that a seed that has grown into a tree is a help to our world in immeasurable ways without much thanks from us. The tree gives us clean air to breathe, takes away the pollution we create, it gives us shade & comfort but we no sooner reduce it down to wood; it provides us with food to eat unconditionally and does a lot more than we give it credit for or take the time to notice.
This woman is the human reflection of this oak tree that has grown within her. When she reaches the end of her road, when she is cut down and reduced to wood, she will continue to give back. She will re-manifest like a Pheonix rising from the ashes; she will become a chair or a table in the hands of a carpenter, she will become fire in the hearth to comfort with warmth and feed a family or simply rot down as a hollow abode for a family of foxes the very place that she fell. She gave unconditionally while she lived; she will provide after her death. This is the power of a fully self-actualized woman who had reached her highest potential.
