Bunjil & Waa

This fine art pigment ink print on 100% cotton rag archival paper is an original ochre and charcoal drawing by Dharshi de Silva. Once again, the symbolism behind this painting is very similar to the one described in the painting Bunjil. Although, the three concentric circles, which represents the Sun, gives further added definition through its symbology, to the idea that destruction and regeneration is an equally positive force. The idea being, the Sun has the power to destroy as well as regenerate, but without it, Earth would soon seize to exist as we know it! If you like to read further about the meaning behind this painting, a post is coming soon; please subscribe to Dharshi's blog here.

  • How to care for your Art work

An eco-print painting does not fade as long as you treat it like a watercolour painting. It is essential to keep it away from direct sunlight and maintain low humidity in the room. Using an LED spotlight to illuminate the canvas is best, as extended exposure to fluorescent lighting can fade the colours. Additionally, the paintings are treated with several layers of art-grade matte fixative, which helps protect them. However, like with any fine art, it is advisable not to touch the canvas unless absolutely necessary.
